    Description

    This item has been installed in an instrument, powered up and tested.  A connection from a PC was successfully established between a computer and an analytical instrument to verify the functionality of the J4100A interface card.
    The firmware on the card has been updated to the latest version available for the component (K.08.49) and the configuration has been optimized for a connection to either an Agilent GC or HPLC.  Optimized means BootP protocol has been disabled and the card has been configured so as to maintain its current configuration and not revert to an "unknown" configuration.
    It has been pre-configured to utiliize only TCPIP and the unnecessary broadcast protocols have all been disabled (i.e. Appletalk, DLC, Bootp, etc.).   The TCPIP addess has been pre-configured to a known (static) address of 10.1.1.101.
    Essentially, this card is "Plug and Play".  It can be installed into a GC or HPLC component and it will power up and connect via TCPIP without utilizing BootP or any other broadcast protocol as long as the PC is configured to the 10.1.1.100.
